University of Western Australia (UWA)– Pace - Electrical Engineering
UWA will be the project manager and project lead for the Cherratta Microgrid project. The UWA team, supported by Murdoch University, and the University of Adelaide, will be overseeing all aspects of the program, including reporting, technical analysis and chairing the project committee to ensure that all project participants are achieving best possible outcomes on each sub-project.
Magellan Power
The Microgrid Deployment Project is being managed by the Future Battery Industry CRC and Pace UWA Research group. Finance for the project has been raised through the FBICRC and project participants. Industry is providing financial support and FTE support, which is detailed in the project budget.
Ensave Pty Ltd is a specialist purpose R & D vehicle that has been incorporated for this program. The owners of Ensave have been operating and constructing Accommodation facilities in the Pilbara for more than 25 years.
Circular Solutions in an Australian leader in the design and deliver of Solar Solutions for regional business’s located in the North West of Western Australia. Delivering Island, fringe of grid, off grid and Embedded network solutions, Ensave have engaged with Circular Solutions to deliver the design for our project.
Ultra Power Systems are providing the engineering, and design work for the VRF Battery. They hold the IP, and knowledge, and are working towards being Australis only Australian sourced, and built VRF Battery provider.
Magellan Power have been a market leader in providing custom power equipment since 1992.
Energetics, who have been operating for more than 35 years, will provide the project energy and carbon management audits, to ensure the information generated will be able to be used by all project participants.
Ultra Power Systems (UPS)
UPS is Western Australia’s first Vanadium Redox Flow Battery manufacturer. Partnering with Ensave on the Cherratta Microgrid project, UPS are engineering cutting edge solutions for microgrid power storage and reuse. Through the use of Redox Flow batteries, and leading edge inverter technology, UPS will develop on and off grid technology solutions that will provide reliable, efficient and economical solutions that will reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
